Where do you go for your expat news?
One of the best resources for expats is the expatriate sections that are available online within the broadsheet newspapers. For instance the Guardian has a useful and informative expat finance section - handy for picking up info on important money stuff for those of us who live abroad. Not updated mega-often, but worth checking in once in a while to see what's been posted there.
Over at the telegraph there's a goo expat section with an interesting weekly blogs roundup with some fascinating and well written commentary on life in different places, with some great posts recently from France and the Persian gulf among others.
Some of the xpatriate forums also offer some very good news services - and it's made all the easier insome cases by the forums breaking down the news into different sections for each o fthe major expat destinations. So if you live in, say, Germany you can click on the section for that country and read up on all the latest news, whether it's about residence permits or current developments in the jobs market.
Of course if you want to tailor your own expat news you can set up a Google alert. It's very easy to do and can help you catch some of the news stories you might otherwise miss. All you need to do to set up a Google alert is go to http://www.google.com/alerts and just feed in the search terms you'd like to be updated on, so depending on what you're interested in, it could be something like these examples:
Dubai Visa
Expat Dubai
Dubai Emigration
... and so on. But be prepared for some search terms maybe not returning the news stories you want, or maybe returning too many the same, so it's worth refining your search terms as you go. And often you'll find that by having an alert set up, you'll be the first to know - and be able to share - interesting news on facebook and Twitter.
